strange idle behavior

I did the seafoam thing today (inspection, oil change, Y-PIPE INSTALL) , and while I was revving the engine in idle to burn off the disolved seafoam crap inoticed this: as the rpm rises to 1500 and I try to keep it there, it will jump up to about 1750 and drop back to 1500 and it would do that over and over. I couldnt really keep it at 2000 rpms, cause the needle would keep climbing no matter how hard or light I press on the gas. I showed this to a mechanic and he said that I would need to run a computer diagnostic on the car to see sensor readings. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this 1500 rpm hop at idle?

Your Idle Air Control is mess up. It need to program with consult II. I would drive around and after few start up you should see a SES light, the light would make easy to diagnose or pin point things (don't try to erase it)

Don't jump the gun NYC TAR he never even said he had an SES light. First off what line did you use to inject the SEAFOAM? How much did you put in. I believe if you used the brake booster line like I did you may not have properly reattached it. Give us a little more info. When starting up your car for the first time after putting in the seafoam immediately put it into gear and take it out for a ***** to the walls drive. This is how you get it real clean. Sitting there reving your engine like a maniac isn't good for it (no resistance) and it really takes a good romping to get it all through your system.

mdloops: I put in half the bottle, the rest i dumped into the gas tank. Mechanic gave me an "IV" dripper thingie to put the seafoam into the break booste line slowly. When we got sick of waiting, we poured it into a cup and let it suck it up, which it did in one big gulp and died. So, after about 10 mins we started and the car and let it run, revving it and idling it, till it wasnt smoking anymore. I drove the car plenty afterwards and at the end of the day it was still doing that rpm hop. BTW, I cant say it didnt do that before seafoam, cause I never tried to keep it at 1500 rpms at idle.
