HIDs for the Projectors... Advice Needed

Ok so the Christmas present for me, besides new tires is gonna be HIDs!

So what do I get?..?..?

Do I go with a projector replacement/retrofit HID PROJECTORS

or the easy option an H3 conversion kit?

What do you guys think?

Any advice about the best solution/pricing/installation/etc would be appricated!!!

Oh yeah by the way will the projectors from HIDPLANET fit? I know PHXBLUE (SP) go ones from HIDTECH that were valeos but these are cheaper so just wanna make sure.

Yeah I saw them I've been eyeing them for a few days now. My understanding is that the valeo projector is still better than the stock hid (d2rs) right? And I will probably be throwing in about $89-100 on the deal I got a $300 budget from my gf. So as you can see right now I want to spend about $400 or less on the deal. Thanks for the input.

Projectors are better. It'd be nice to see a 2000/2001 do a projector retrofit. More room to work with, and the valeos have a very nice cutoff as far as color. But remember, they are not bi-xenon.

Id say go the projector route, more work, but it pays off. Projector > Reflector.

Defiantely go with the projector retro. You will get a much better cutoff line, plus you will have great output. You will be one of the few 5gens who retroed. Who knows maybe you can even start a continuous trend. I hope you choose this route and take pictures and directions, Good Luck.

Anyone else have any more input? I've pm PhxBlue on the matter but still aren't sure of what route I want to go with this.

Here are my options

2k1 assemblies with h4 conversion kit
Ebay Projectors with h3 converstion kit
Ebay Projectors with retro fit valeo projectors
2k2 assemblies stock hids

I'm in the exact same boat =). It'd be easiest to just get an H3 HID kit and put it in, but the beam pattern might still be messed up. The retrofit is ideal, but I'm not sure about fitment and ease of installation. Keep us posted with what you decide on!

I was thinking about the PM's that you sent me. The retro that HitmanSE and I did into those ebay housings was a pain in the rump. thinking more about it, I'd go for quality and originality and do a Hella bi-xenon retro into the stock 2k1 housings, In that event you would have some really nice HID high beams. The ebay housings are just not very good for retros. And I wouldn't dare touch the 2k2 housings for the purpose of a retro on them, they are too precious.

Here is a few pics of what my lights currently look like. http://forums.azmaximas.org/viewtopic.php?t=2056
