need a new cat?

i get the tell tale rotten egg smell in the car everyonce in a while when i floor it... does the cat need to be replaced? the only reason i do not think so is because it is not all the time, i have no loss of power and if i can only smell it when i hit it for like 6 sec.

it's not the gas you get quality wise, it's the ethanol, MTBE, and/or other additives that are in fuel now. Your car will like smell like that no matter what unless we stop using these reformualted fuels.

Or eliminate the cats and it will not emit the rotten egg smell, which is the only thing you will notice besides damaging the ozone layer because the power gains are minimal or non-existent, as Ceasars Chariot once proved.
