TSB Question

I've got a general question about TSBs. If I go to my dealer with the TSB in hand will they perform the service listed on it for free? I'm asking mainly because I want them to perform the TSB where they insert foam into the window channels so that wind noise is reduced at high speeds. Thanks in advance.

I've never seen that TSB for a 2003. Go to Alldata.com for verification. Could you be referring to housecor's homemade fix for wind noise? That requires weatherstripping from Home Depot or Lowe's inserted into the space behind the factory rubber seal. Check the how-to sticky for more info.

they will only perform the TSB is they can duplicate the problem at hand, which is where most owners testify why nissan service sucks.... because they never find the problem

and if you vehicle doesn't fall under the right years or VIN category, you do not qualify for the TSB

mother f*%$@#s! yeah those guys are never too bright. looks like i'm SOL on this one. i'll have to do it myself i guess. lets just hope it's as easy as housecors instructions make it look. anything i should be careful of or look out for while doing it?

This is definitely a do it yourself job. If its the one I'm thinking of, where you put foam tape underneath the rubber molding around the windows, its no problem. Just roll your window down all the way and pull the rubber away from the door where its mounted...it should come right off and you can see the pinchweld where its mounted to. I think you just put some adhesive foam on the top of that pinchweld and mount the rubber back on, the rubber should cover the foam when its done. You'll see how easy it is once you pull off the rubber molding.

Housecor's site gives the size foam tape you'll need, as well as the instructions.
