Transmission fluid

How often should you change your transmission fluid? what is a good fluid to use for the 6 speed? if i take my car to the dealer for any of the big services are they going to change it anyway?

MAke sure it is GL4 75w90 ONLY. Check the Fluids forum too. Some recommend Redline, some just stick with OEM. I got mine changed by Nissan for 45 bucks. Every 60k miles is good.

It is highly recommended that you look for Redline MT-90 or Amsoil. 3 quarts at approx. $8 per quart. They carry the GL-4 rating. Most hot rod or racing equipment stores will carry them. Do not buy Mobil 1 or any of the other popular brands found in most parts stores, most have the GL-5 rating. Changing is very simple and can be found in the how-to sticky.

I would change your tranny fluid as often as you can afford to, at least every 25,000 miles. The more often you change it, the longer your tranny is going to last (unless you miss alot of shifts then it doesn't matter what fluid you have).
