Automatic stalling when shifted into Drive

Hey all, I have a friend whos 5th gen MAX is stalling when they shift it into drive. Has anyone experienced this problem before? They have had it into the local dealership and they can't find the problem. Now they have another car in with the same situation and told my friend not to bring the car in until they figure out the other car.
The problem doesn't happen every single time...

Thanks in advance for any insight.

That's a new one on me... does it cut right off when shifted into drive or just sputter out? Where did he take it? As you can see I'm from Gettysburg also.

Hmm, I've been having a similar problem. When I start it up if it's cold outside the car will sputter, then stall. If I give it some gas it's ok... any idea what the problem could be?

how cold? mine did it yesterday morning i called my brother who is a mechanic and he told me that it is most likely water condensation that built up overnight and froze... it was minus 2 last night... when you give it gas it returns pressure to the line and you are a-ok...

That could be a problem, but check for the simpler things first (mentioned : TPS, MAF...etc)
