Broken Strut piston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hit a pot hole. Something in the rear of my car began to rattle. I discovered that the strut piston had snapped off. WTF? advice?
the length of the snapped bolt is about 3.5 inches

Thats not a bolt that snapped, thats the top of the shock's piston.
You need to buy a new shock.

that's what I thought. How does the refund work with tokico blues? These things have a lifetime warranty, right?

it looks like Tokico made the return/exchange policy rather challenging. I would have to remove the strut and temporarily replace it with an OEM. Then, I have to send them a buch of forms. That won't work. Where can I buy one driver's side rear strut for a 2000 Maxima?

Thanks for your help.
