More Tire Questions

Ok guys, I am living in Toronto Canada, the winters here can be brutal. I am now facing a dilema and would like some input. I currently have the Hankook Ventus HRII H405 which might as well be bald when it comes to driving in snow. But I hear it is a pretty good summer tire(I just got my 03 max 6 speed a couple of weeks ago so I have no idea how they handle in summer, but I hear they are decent). So, I am faced with a question: Do I just scrap these Hankook's (they are new) and get a good all season tire like the Mich Pilot? Or pick up a dedicated winter tire and drive with the Hankooks in the summer?

I guess what I am asking is how good are the Mich Pilots in general? For snow and over all performance? AND were I to get dedicated winter tires, which ones do you guys recommend? Thanx.

My

If you have the money to get snow tires then that will be better then getting a all season tire. i heard good things from Bridgestone Blizzack LM-22s

I head the Hankook Icebear W300 are really good for the money. I am also wondering if I should get seperate steel rims, or swap tires on the existing rims each season? They are stock rims.

Check out tirerack.com and look at their review section and maybe you can base your decision based on that.

I plan on getting the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50's for $104.00 each, plus 4 16 inch steelies for $42.00 each. I would rather have a dedicated tire/wheel combo so the swap will be easier every winter/spring.

The Pilot AS's are good but you cant compare them to dedicateds. Besides, this combo will still be cheaper than getting the Pilots.

Check out www.tirerack.com for the deal.
