hello everyone, right now i own a nisan 240sx. i am interested in gettin a maxima prefferably the 2000-2003, (anniversary edition) but as long as i can find a stick i will be happy. well anyway to get to my point, i was wondering since the maxima is front wheel drive if there was a particular motor swap that maxima owners are doin? or are they just goin with what i did with my 240sx and through a turbo on it/ or supercharger? thanx also anyone ever hear of someone makin they're maxima rear wheel drive? thats what i would like to do, maybe throw an rb20det or rb26dett. but i dont think it would be reasonable. well thanx hope to hear from someone thanx

swap are not common on maxima like on 240sx siwth the sr20det or anything else!

The VQ as plenty of potentiel for turbo or SC application! and many kit are available!

RWD conversion: sell your maxima and buy a G35 or 350Z!

 

i really doubt you would want to go all out on making it RWD...yea should just buy a g35 coupe or Z...or better yet, just get an sr20det for ur 240...

 

VQs fit in 240SXs also, its the new thing they are doing in Japan, ALOT of potential from these motors. You can't go wrong with a SR in a S13/S14. I have a SR20DET with alot goodies in my G20, gonna hit the dyno soon- should be close to 500WHP with the voltage readings I get for my TTZ MAF-its maxed out.

 

better off asking this question in the 4th gen forums. more people there are doing swaps. the only swap for 5th gen are tranny swaps and putting vq35 into a 2k-2k1 maxima.
