Is there any way to disable the RDS in my 03 Maxima? It is driving me nuts! Help.

 

i never saw a way to turn it off. i didnt realize it was that much of a nuissance, haha, i never even looked at mine.

radio data system...at least thats what i assumed

 

i thought there was, im not at home right now so i may be thinking of the CD text....but im sure there is a way, i dont mind it, how does it bother you?

 

It's just constantly flashing. Scrolling through the text. My 4runner has a button to turn it off. The Maxima, apparently, doesn't. It doesn't always work right either, which is apparently just because the signal is broadcast incorrectly. I'd just rather not have it on if I don't have to. Otherwise, the car is perfect!

 

im not really sure, but have you looked in the owners manual? i think the reason that its not always correct is due to the radio stations, because it always takes a little while for it to react...but thats like that with other cars and radios with rds as well

 

I read the manual and called Nissan service but can't find anything. I figured actual Maxima owners would know more.

 

well sorry i cant help out right now, but im away from home so i cant go "experiment" good luck on finding a solution though
