Lowering=Noise
Lowering=Noise
When I lowered my car, a new noise came about like many have come to find out. It sound like a stack of plates rattling around and would happen at lower speeds when going over bumps and just the typical terrain of the road. It was most annoying. So one time when I was messing around with my car I was slapping my hand up and down on my open driver's side door and I heard the same exact noise. I noticed it was coming from my hood. So I put my hand on the hood and hit the door again and the sound was gone. I know many other's have suggested as a possible fix to lowering suspension noise to check the installation of your struts and the like. But, I was most pleased to find the root of the problem. So finally today I adjusted the rubber bump stops in the engine bay that the hood rests against, while putting on my hyperground kit, and went for a test drive. The sound was completely gone and the car was silent. So just wanted to share this with anyone who might have a similiar noise. The fix is free and takes less than a minute. It is weird though the hood never made this noise before the dropping, I guess in part to the fact not so much of the road vibration was passed along to the chassis.
