I am having problems with my 2000 Maxima's automatic transmission. Started with hard shifts from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd when accelerating quickly. Now there is a loss of power when accelerating in low and high RPMs. Recently pressed down on the gas and engine RPMs went up but car felt as if it was in neutral. When I took it to the dealer and they had very little to offer except to replace the valve body or transmission. Only have 64K miles on it and replaced the fluid twice. Once at 30K and 2nd time at 64K.

I am new to this so any insight as to what is going on will be helpful.

 

i have the same problem... but i have a warranty on my 01 maxima.... sorry to hear this.. soo much inconvience to life... but honda took it to a nissan dealer... and they are putting a brand new tranny... u'll be lucky to have ur car in 2 weeks i wood say... for me it's over 2 weeks... n they haven't even started on my car...... good luck hopefully u have warranty or suttin cuz it'll bang out big bucks from ur pocket... unless u go to junk yard and take it out ur self....
