Touch-up paint (Sterling Mist)
Touch-up paint (Sterling Mist)
Hey guys,
I know touch-up paint usually sucks, but I have a few less-than-obvious chips/scrapes I'd like to do something about. They're not in a really visible spot, so I think a little blobbing shouldn't be a problem. I've searched and looked around online and I can't find the site that sells the touch-up pen, with the clear-coat on the one end and the paint on the other. Does anybody know what I'm talking about and where to get it? Also, does the pen work out okay? Thanks in advance.

I have the same color car. http://www.courtesyparts.com/paint/maxima.html
if you sand and use clear coat n follow the instruction really well, then it works good. If you messed anything up, it's better to keep the chips. I used it on both side of bumper under headlamp. My passenger side looks awesome but driver side looks like ****.
i tried the touch up pen and sanding technique followed by clear coat pen on the door ding. on my particular car the paint didn't blend in very well as the touch up paint from nissan was lighter than the paint on the car.
ended up doing a complete repaint job on the passenger side door ding - sanded, primed, couple coats of spray paint, and clear coat - and it came out just like new.
for touch up on other areas of the car you just have to take your chances. the paint on each car weathers differently depending on how the finish has been maintained (garaged, waxed, etc).

Nissan
Nissan sells the paint in a little bottle. I use a product called langka go to there website http://www.langka.com/ simply the best product out there for the do it yourselfer. Follow the directions to a tee and your repairs will be awesome. No more blobs and the paint will match flawlessly.
You can go to: http://www.paintscratch.com I have a 2002 Sterling Mist Max and tried the pens from Duplicolor and the touch up paint from Nissan. In my opinion, this company's Sterling Mist is a better match from factory.
I just bought the touch up pen and a bottle at courtesy nissan today. I got langka right b4 christmas and now i am planning on touching up a lot of my bumper where there are tons of chips. If only it would stop raining....
heres your best bet got to your local paint suppy store. have them make you the paint on the spot they can take a color sample of your car and tint it age the touch up paint and cost around 4.00-6.00 very cheap and a way better way to go. is it a pain in the *** no. cause the results are much better and you usllay get a lot of it. trust me on this one i get pissed when i see chips and my car is spot less ask any one who seen my car its like a wax shop in my trunk so every little chip i see and it get me so mad
