Does an 02-03 steering wheel fit the 01 Max. I'm going to buy one and want to make sure it will fit. Anyone .... Irish any comments?..... is it plug and play?

 

I'm not sure, but if it is - get the heated steering wheel, it's amazing!

there was just a thread bout this yesterday on the .org ! YES the 02-03 wheel will fit the 01 Maxima, but it will NOT fit the 00 Maxima. 00 Maxima uses the same wheel and airbag as 97-99 Maxima SE. Airbags are different on the 01 Maxima from the 00 model, and the air bags on 02-03 are little diff- they have a chrome emblem in the middle of the airbag, where the 01s have a raised but not chromed emblem stapmed into the airbag. I'm using a non heated 02 steering wheel on my 01 GXE (which had a nasty plastic steering wheel) , its nice cause its prefforated leather and feels really nice to touch. I was going to get a heated wheel from a .org member, but he wanted 200 bux for it- and for that price I reather just ditch the airbag and get a MOMO wheel which feels, and looks awesome. I got my wheel from a friend for free, who bought a airbag set on Ebay for his crashed 02 6spd Max, and just gave me the wheel the bags came with.

 

it would fit except for the airbag.

 

should be an exact fit for the 01... i had a friend of mine do it to his 01 and hasnt given him any problems

Yes... it is the second one... the first one people start saying and posting st$#@d steering wheel. I need one and I started a second one so serious people will help me find what I need. If you cannot help me good, someone else will do.

 

has anyone done a non oem steering wheel on a 5th gen maxima?
