I was pretty upset when I got my new Max SE automatic almost 2 years ago and I was getting 17 mpg in the city. I kinda pretty much thought of it as a trade off..great engine, great car, so what?. I recently checked my gas mileage again and lo and behold I am now getting 19 mpg in the city. Still nothing fantastic, but hey you never know it may get even better.

Mine appears to be slowly getting better too with no change in my driving habits!

Yeah, the OSCAI helps...but not if you are trying to realize the real gains of the OSCAI But, the weather getting warmer also seems to help as mileage.

Winter gas is less efficient. Now that we're using regular summer gas, everyone should see some improvement.

I live in South Florida and there is no such thing as winter here....well at least nothing you people up north would consider winter. I got my Max in the summer of 1999 and the gas mileage was crappy then, I don't think weather had anything to do with it, it just has gotten better with time.
