Anyone know how to quickly check the cost for the new Altima SE-R calipers and Rotors online without going to call the dealer? I cant find them...I hope they would fit being the same size of the 04 max.

is there any difference in brake pad size on the Alti SE-R or the 04 Max? the last time i went to the dealer i didnt have a chance to look at both side by side.

I don't think there would be that much of a difference in pad surface area between the SE-R and the new Max. But there is no doubt that Nissan WANTS their "sporty sedan" to be the Alty!

I just emailed Dave B on rough prices for the SE-R calipers and rotors.

UPDATE: Dave B replied on the prices for the SE-R calipers and rotors and here it is:

Chris-
I can get the calipers for $108.20 per side, the front rotors are $83.70 each. I know the rotorswill fit thehubs, but I'm unsure on the calipers. You can give me a call @ 888-254-6060.
Thanks!
David Burnette, South Point Nissan

Now if we can just get one to do a side by side with an 04-05 Max caliper to see if the mounting holes are the same.

A lot less than $790 that's listed on the Mossy Performance site.

great price. now we just need a test fitting. i'd be willing to try this once it warms up outside. I figure 190 a side isn't too bad, and if it doesn't work i could ebay the calipers and rotors and not loose too much.

need to make sure that 108.20 is the caliper ASSEMBLY, not just the caliper itself. Remember, it's a 2-piece assembly!!

That's for the whole caliper assembly- body, bracket, pistons, seals, etc.

Check out this thread that just started, obviously they didn't search first but it sounds like it's pretty good info. certainly goes with what we've been tossing around.

what do these SE-R rotors look like? I am assuming they are still single-piston though, right?

They're silver with the SE-R stamped on them. I think they're a little ricey, but to each his own. Personally, the silver doesn't go with the color of my car, so I'm willing to go with 2k4 calipers (assuming that they are the same as the SE-Rs and will fit) and paint them black.

yeah....having SE-R stamped on them is a major minus.....plus, if they're only single-piston calipers, I can't see how they are any better than the 6th gen max calipers anyhow....

They are still single piston calipers. As far as them being silver, you can paint them any color you want...no different than painting the 6th gen Max calipers. I kinda like the SE-R calipers because the front side of them that faces out the wheel is machined flat giving it that "performance" look. The SE-R being stamped on em imo isn't ricey (and trust me I can't stand ricey add ons!) it's Nissans performance designation. It's an easier way for those that aren't Max enthusiasts like us (but still know that they aren't factory) to recognize the brake change. Granted it might not score as many points at a show as a true BBK would but it will still look good in the judges eyes without costing as much as a set of tires and wheels or more.

just my .02

I know what it looks like, I just figured you guys who are talking about it might want to post a pic....

But, since everyone else is too lazy, here it is:
(I personally think they are quite cheesy-looking and not an improvement over the 6th gen maxima arotors..)

so anyone got 6th gen rotors and SE-R calipers installed? For 2k1 max, a spacer is needed to fit stock wheels on. Is this the same for the SE-R calipers? maybe they can fit without spacers since they have a flat front and thats what rubs without spacer when it comes to 6th gen calipers.

Junkyard search for parts... How?

What's the best way to search junkyards for caliper assemblies (or any other part)?

Any definitive answer for 6th gen rears bolting on?

Any answer for putting 6th gen rears on as well? Parking brake still intact?

Ok I saw a 6th gen that was from New Orleans in a junkyard a few days ago. Is it worth checking out? Im asking because of the fact that it probably set underwater for a few weeks, and there are alot of hurricane damage vehilces being brought into my area.

What about the weight of the 2k4 rotor? Thats a few pounds you are adding to your rotating weight.

Is the loss of acceleration noticable? 2pc rotors would be worth the price.

you should not be concerned with this, for there is no diff. between 2000-2001 and 2002-2003 hubs/nole dia. etc. Only calipers/rotors are different. I've got 2k2 rotors/calipers on my 2k max, rotors are goners, warped badly... i'm thinking of new brakes, so 2k4 brakes would be an alterantive for 300zx/cobra kit, except for the look.
