Tranny problem

Hello everyone... I'm a new maxima owner ! 2000 SE automatic...

First, i woul like to tell everybody that my first language is French, that's why i might make some mistakes when i write english... So please don't laugh too much :P

I have my car since 3 weeks now and i already have some trouble The problem is my tranny. Since yesterday my Reverse and my 1st gear didn't want to work properly. It works SOMETIMES ! If i want my Reverse to work properly, i have to push the gas really hard and it makes a really big "BANG" in the tranny Same thing for my first gear.

Also when it shift from the 2nd to 3rd, the engine "rev" a lot between the gear...

Do you have any idea about that ?!? Does anything like that happenned to one of you here ??

Thanks :P

i had the same problem with my car... jus got it back 4 days ago after i dropped it off 3 w eeks ago... basicly they told me my tranny was slipping and on top of that they found metal everywhere.... they replaced mine with a new one for 400 bucks from the warrenty i had... 2001 max. gle... that prolly my hunch rite there... i seen the price for the fuhcker it costed honda 1500+ for the tranny... i paid an extra 300 on t op of my 100 bucks deductible cuz i wanted a new tranny rather than a used one from a junk yard.... get it che cked out before u can't drive it no more

KabirUTA13: Does your tranny was only slipping or you had problem with your 1st and Reverse too ???

And yes, i'm gonna make it check on monday and for now, i don't use my car because i don't want to make it worst. And my dealership is about 20 miles away from my house, so i need my tranny to bring my car there

Yeah i have the car since 3 weeks now... If they want me to pay for that i think i'm gonna get mad in the showroom and he won't like that if i start screaming in front of everybody lol ! And for my oil, like i said it's brand new from 4 days ago...

takkar: It doesn't change anything if the car is cold or not, it's always doing the same thing

Got my 00 Gle and 2 weeks later I felt the tranny slipping 1-2 2-3 went to the dealer
and explained the tsb about the shift solenoid. They called me later to tell me there was metal all in the pan. They ended up replacing it b/c it had only 58,000 miles. When I went to get the car I saw the slip that said rebuilt tranny $2350 plus labor. I was kinda pissed it was rebuilt, but I couldn't complain considering I was in a poor situation. How many miles do you have? You probably need a new tranny, if your over 60K Id go to a cheap mechanic and get it rebuilt. My car only slipped at 2500+ rpm so when I test drove it, there was deception. I beleive there is a 30 day lemon law check it out.

My tranny was slipping a bit when i got my car, just like you... But now, it's not only slipping...

My car has about 88000 miles (140000km) on it. And yes, like you said, i'm gonna check for the 30 days lemon law. One of my friend just told me that on msn ! But i'm sure he won't complain and he'll make it rebuilt
