Tire balance is the most likely culprit.

have you hit any potholes lately? you could've bent your wheel out of round. have you recently put on aftermarket wheels?

Oooo. I missunderstood.
Does the car rev smoothly? Any loss of power?
Do the RPM's drop low?
How many miles?

I suspect new coils in your future.

I had that problem and I had my rack and pinion tightened. Go to an alignment shop and see what they have to say. There are a number of reasons why your steering is shaking.

Warped tires
Worn motor mounts
bent wheel
improper wheel balance
out of alignment
rack and pinion is loose

Give more info. How is it shaking. Side to side? Just vibrating?

me too!

I have the same problem. I took my car to the tire place that put my tires on a few months back and they checked and rebalanced the wheels for me. So I take it out and it's worse than before! I'm not going back there yet, b/c I haven't been satisfied with any of the work they've done. But now I have this bad vibration that starts up around 60 and gets really bad around 65-70. It's accompanied by a really hard to describe noise from one of the wheels; it's something I hear everytime the wheel goes around. Could it be a bent rim? Or a wheel bearing? AAAAAHHHH...I'm going crazy! So many stupid things could be wrong.

Coils can make the engine idle rough. Rough idle can be felt through the steering wheel.

Ben. You are right, to some degree. However the steering wheel would not shake because of the ignition coils as described by the symptoms.

Your diagnosis sucked.

I had the very same problem -- your coils need to be replaced. I replaced all 6 of them and it is fine!!!

I must say if there are no SES codes coming wait for one to come and then if it is a P1320 -- u have a bad coil set. I would think it is just a matter of time before a code is thrown!!!
