jeez, that's like one foot in the grave with that much mileage ... might be worth it as long as the owner has all of the maintenence records. That's the only way I'd buy it.

GLE=sunroof, auto, leather, etc....

That is a hell of a deal IMO. That car if taken care of could/would last a lot of years still and I bet you'd still get close to what you paid. Terrific deal.

hmm, does not sound too bad at all. just last year i sold my 98 gle fully loaded for $7000, with 72k miles on it. so it looks like not too bad of a price. as long as it was taken care of, and has records, and the tranny is good, with no slippage, i'd say go for it. also, run a car fax, and take it to a machanic to have the car checked out... that is very important. they can see things that you could never find. I know it is a PITA, but you have to do it.. especialy with that many miles.

Sorta funny about the mechanic thing. Everyone bashes them until it's time to have a car checked out when buying. It's hard enought to get them to find a problem when there is in fact a problem muchless having them look for stuff when you don't even know something is wrong. I agree to take it to one I just find it kinda funny. I bet that unless you really know a mechanic they check the oil, tranny fluid and hook a scanner on it and call it a day. "Looks good to me".

In today's economy you cannot expect to get KKB price when selling. If you get KBB price you are extremely lucky. Cars are regularly selling for a couple grand below blue book. KBB Private party value for my 99 cougar is $7500 yet DEALERS are selling them with same mileage and even lower for $5999. Dealers cannot even get KBB value for great condition cars. The economy is terrible right now and it is a buyers market. IF you pay KBB price for a car you are overpaying. Just a thought. My uncle owned dealerships for 20 years and he recently sold them because the market is too weak for him to make money.

That is the truth. Market alway dictates selling price. Maxima's in my area are always way overpriced. 02-03's are 17-22K. Even the 95-99 are cheapest at around 5-6K. It's ridiculous.
