P1320 Ignition Coil Replacement.
P1320 Ignition Coil Replacement.
Hi All,
For those who had the P1320 code....ignition misfire. Have you replaced the ignition coils and was it OEM parts. I called around and surfed the net and found local a dealership pricing way out of proportion
Dealer A charges 120 each
Dealer B charges 63 each
and CourtesyParts (still the best) - 54.53 each
My question is since they are all dealer parts OEM, why is one charging more than another. Am I getting more things for 120 or what?
But my real question is when replacing the ignition coils, OEM parts does it come with the coil + boot + the connector pack? Connector pack i guess would be that part where the harness snaps to. I just don't wan to end up with the wrong parts. I took the coil out from the car and it looks like it is 1 unit item and can not be detached or broken up in to pieces. Need help on this. Thanks.

Because dealer B and C actually want to deal in a little bit of quantity of parts and aren't as greedy. Dealer A prices at full MSRP and in some cases over MSRP. Markup is huge on parts.
Reminds me of when the tailgate was stolen off my truck. I paid $10K for the truck off the showroom and the tailgate came to $1200. I found it hard to believe the tailgate was over 1/10th of the price of my truck. Add the doors and a couple of wheels and you have the full price of the truck. Ridiculous.
Don't know about the rest of your post.

I had the problem. Ordered 6 coils from DaveB. 50bucks each.
these OEM parts are, as you said "1 unit items". Each in their own box, unplug the old ones, plug in the new ones.
all dealers in Canada sell them at 109$CDN each. I called a couple from coast to coast before I called DaveB.
By the way, my SES light went off on its own about 100 miles after the repair. Engine purrs since, no problem with it.
Hope it helps.

Hey guys,
I ordered my coils and new plugs from Dave B. in Texas last week, got them Friday and in less than 1 1/2hrs I had everything up & running. Two of the cylinders are a little bit of a pain to get at (#5-rear center & #6-rear driver) but all in all, about as easy as changing the oil. Make sure you have a magnetic rod or somthing because you're bound to drop one of the screws at least once.
Total job cost me less than $400 + 1.5hrs of my time. Dealers wanted approx $600 in parts + 2hrs labor, so I strongly encourage you to figure it out yourself. It is simple. The Haynes book lays out details if you need it.
Thanks Dave!!
