Head unit display blurred - is this normal?

I have a question for those of you who still have the stock head unit in your maxima. About a year ago I complained to my dealer that I got an error when playing some of my CDRs. So they replaced the entire head unit for me. The problem never went away and I just forgot about it. Lately with the cold weather I have noticed that the numbers on the replacement head unit aren't as clear or sharp as they are on my climate control. In fact there is a green glow around all the numbers which seems to get worse as the weather gets colder. I was wondering if this is normal for the BOSE head unit since I don't remember ever coming accross this on my original one or if this is something I need to bring up to Nissan.

The only thing I can think of is that it may be condensate beneath the plastic...and I don't think that there is much that can be done about that.

Electronics don't like the sub-zero temps. The 6th gen guys have a thread going about how some of their OEM cd players aren't even playing discs in the cold weather.

i know that cuz everything is slower when it's this cold out. but my climate control display is as sharp as ever and it's the original one from the factory. that's the only reason i ask. do any of you notice a difference between the two in cold weather? thanks guys.

I think the plastic is likely different and may be a little fogged up when it's cold out. I've seen some close up pics on Ebay of some cars and the displays look different to me anyway between the climate and radio. I doubt it is the lights though and actually the plastic in front of them.
