ES Subframe Bushings -- Is this right?

I received my Subframe Bushings (which actually go on the C-brace where the motor mount brackets bolt onto). Went ahead and installed them.

The install went smoothly, except I'm confused about something.

ES tells you to put the larger part of each bushing on the top (presumably protruding through the hole, as it fits perfectly), with the smaller (ring) in the bottom-

I did that, however, I found a little problem. The bolts squish out the ring, like such-

(note the upper part, where the ring bushing seems to protrude a little)

That just doesn't look right to me. That's how it's installed though, so if I need to redo it, I best better be able to make it through tomorrow until I can redo it. I tightened all of them down to ~65 ft/lbs (shop manual specifies 57-72). It got tight, too.

Then again, the larger bushing does protrude through and compress a little with the bolt tightened, so I doubt it has any risk of losing tension and failing. But it just didn't look right to me. Comments?

PS- ES asks you to unbolt the motor mounts from the subframe C-brace and remove it completely. I did it with the motor mounts installed, just raising/lowering the motor a little as necessary to raise/lower the C-brace from the frame. Much quicker

Bump... anything? (PoLo, Matt93SE? )

It drove fine into work this morning, no clunking or whatnot. I guess it's fine.

Just to clarify, you left the motor mounts attached, had them pressed out, the ES inserts pressed in, then you reattched the C-brace, and wiggled the engine to reinsert the motor mount center bushing bolts?

I haven't done the motor mount inserts yet, these are just the subframe bushings for the C-brace-to-subframe (I received them, became eager, they're the easiest to install so I did them )

I didn't really notice any change but then again my susp is already harsh. My tuner shop didn't think they'd do much for handling compared with other normal mods.

I think they need to be installed with the motor mounts for them to really be effective. That looks the same as the 4th gens I have done them on. They all were a little squished. I wouldn't worry about it. Now just get your motor mounts installed and any other bushings you have yet to do. They make a hell of a difference.

Torque Specs for these Bolts?

Can anyone provide the torque specifications for these 4 bolts?

(An as long I am making a comment - on the motor mounts, just buy the entire motor mount assy from the dealership - then there is no pressing out and pressing in - it's just a simple remove and install project - and do spend the extra $$ for the electronic front mount - it makes a difference. I replaced all 4 mounts not too long ago.)

Thanks,

Dan

Those ES mounts were a waste of money to me. I thought they were subframe mounts when ordering also.
