Any negative effects with zinc plated rotors?

I am thinking about zinc plating my rotors to prevent rust from forming. Does anyone know if there are any negative effects performance wise?

There should be no negative effects. Although the rotors are zinc plated, it will all be scraped off where the surface makes contact with the the brake pads anyway. The zinc plating around the rest of the rotor helps with rust and that's about it.

Peace.

I have/had zinc coated rotors on my car and one good thing is, the center hub area no longer rusts, but like 01SE02SER mentioned, the zinc coating will be gone in no time.

Won't rust creep in around the edge of the pad wear zone?

rotors

i bought the brembo rotors and new pads and after i installed them, the zinc plating was coming off. It was building up spots on the outside and it was making a thump, thump sound. I had to drive for awhile, and then srcap it off with a razor blade. Now its been a few months, working good.
