It's a no hose, no rinse car wash.

Check out these links for an idea of what it does:

Actually, it's not that bad. As long as i keep the garage door closed, the temp gets to about 35-40.

I think only negative thing about QEW is not being able to rinse the undercarriage. I guess you can go to high pressure wash place and rinse the undercariage first and then come home to use QEW. Is QEW available at Pepboys or Autozone?

When my father built his retirment home (MA) he had hot and cold faucets put just inside the garage doors so he could have hot water for the bucket, and the rinse. Then he'd pull into the garage with it dripping wet and dry it off. He had drains in the floor, and the floor sloped to allow the water to get to the drains. He tried to have a walk-under pit installed under one of the spaces so he could get underneath the car when he wanted to, but the local building codes wouldn't allow it.

Hard core car guy.

I'll have to wait till this midwest snow is over, too. We've got about 6 inches so far. Went skiing yesterday (200 miles round trip) and my Super Black is now Super White....I hate the salt.

My brother would always wash his car in the garage during the winter. Man, I'm glad my max is in storage this winter.

The hand wash place i usually go to in the winter closed that day Polak - go figure. I get an exterior-only hand wash for $10.

My interior is mint. No cleaning necessary.

That's why I bought a house that already had one of these installed in the garage. Turn the dial to 60, come back in 15 minutes, nice and toasty.

Yea, those heaters are nice.
That reminds me... I have an old space heater that still works somewhere in the basement. If I can dig that up I can actually get some cleaning done in my garage.

Would an oil change, fuel filter change, and carwash 11pm with the car temp reading 17degrees be considered crazy?
That's what I did with my '01 Pathfinder. The fuel filter is located in the back of the car OVER the rear transfer case, so I was on my back, on the driveway with fuel dripping onto my face.

The dealers around here are notorious for killing your car while in service. One cut wife's Jetta's (VW/Nissan dealer) brake cable while doing oil change, stripped her oil pan screw, and another dealer stripped all the screws that hold the skid plate on my '97 Pathfinder, and another dealer lost 4 of the 7-8 screws that hold the skid plate on my '01 pathfinder after ONE oil change... While there, a customer brought in a quest with no oil because dealer misinstalled the filter (how?!?!?) and the oil leaked out...

Needless to say, I do my own service now...

Wow! From all the replies i've read so far, i think your story takes the cake. Can't you call the Nissan Corp. and report that dealer for screwing up so often??

I tried. the 1-800 (or 1-888, i don't remember) number only ended up with sympathetic nissan customer rep who couldn't do anything. Their saying was that the individual dealer service is a privately owned entity and that they do not have control over how they run the business.

I called VW USA as well, and got the same reply from them.

Just keep in mind, dealer sales and service are two different entities, and Nissan has very little control over the service department. I was told that I'd get better and faster results if I went to the BBB.

By the way, forgot to include one more thing. One of the dealers did an oil change and afterwards, I had vibration in my '97 pathfinder at high speeds. They claimed there is nothing wrong. I took it to a goodyear dealer and they found that the front drive axel was bent. Perhaps they dropped the lift when something was under the car? ANyway, dealer denied everything, and I ended up paying out of pocket to get the axel replaced (NOT at the dealer).

Another dealer also did a strut replacement, and I think they re-used the old strut to tower nuts (which alot of people do, but didn't expect from dealer), and one of them failed, and after awhile, all three failed, and broke the studs (this was in '95 on a '92 Maxima)! They said that it is not an uncommon thing...

And this is from 3 different dealers in the NJ-NY area!!!

So unfortunately, I have to do my engine and tranny oil changes (no garage) in my driveway, in 17degree weather... I figure what doesn't kill you will make you stronger...

when i go to wash my car in the winter i usually put the hose on the water heater in the basement and route it outside to wash with... it keeps me a lil warmer and also makes sure there isnt any freezing anytime soon

You are certainly crazy but you did what you felt you had to do. I would wait until the indoor hand car washes opened up and wait in the long line to get mine washed. I moved away from that cold place a long time ago. When it gets too cold here in Florida, I hold off on washing my car because there is no salt or snow here so it can wait. Tomorrow is supposed to get up to 75.

When I build my next house it will have a heated garage with hot/cold water and a floor drain.

That is a must have option.

You guys are having a miserable winter, but we got the four hurricanes this past summer. Maybe that is why we are rubbing it in. Well, you guys got me motivated, so I will clean the Max and the wife's Spyder since it is just right outside. A sunny and comfortable 70.

Finally got some of that QEW and gave it a try

Before

After

Definitely recommend. Only bad thing for me was I had to dry my car very quickly before ice formed.

RV supply store... it's fairly self explanatory.

A store that sells products to help stock and take care of recreational vehicles... campers... those things that crusty old people buy to go back and forth from their homes in the frozen darklands of the barren North and their summer homes in Florida.

I tried to find some at local auto store but I just ended up ordering some online. Got a gallon of it for around $38 shipped.
