Help!! CF Hood not fitting

I went to put my Invader CF Hood on this morning and the bolts in the hood werent aligned. After a little banging and pulling, i managed to barely get the fourth bolt in its hole. But, now the hood will not lock all the way down when i shut it. It latches but wont lock. Any suggestions are appreciated?

You might have to relocate the latch (on the car not the hood). I had the same problem with my CF hood and after relocating the latch it still fit like a$$. Good luck!

I would, but first take pictures of the fitment so you have pruf and send it to the company and see what they say

just adjust the latch....move it up higher and it should fit fine....but also make sure there isn't any gaps or anything...... my hood would pop up when i first got my cf hood.....while i was driving....after adjusting the latch, no problems since....

myktek - where did you get your hood from and how much was it. I was looking at the VIS OEM style.

So do I have to drill new holes to move the latch?

I wanted to return mine claiming crappy fitment/product. I also had pics of everything that didn't fit right. The place I ordered it from would not take it back, only give me credit for the hood.

I have the invader hood.I had same problem yet I can't discribe without taking pics. Since it's the weekend I will take some pics and post here. Try my points and if it still doesn't fit see if you can return it. I didn't modify the hood at all just the car. Also the windsheild washer nozzles are not the right size but I have trick for that too. Give me some time and I will help you out by the end of this weekend.

On my 4th gen I had to actually drill off a part of the latch so it would lock. It was only about 1/4" but it made a huge difference.

my VIS OEM I had to grind down the \ / of the latch right on the front cause it was hitting it and wouldn't wanna shut all the way. What you wanna do is put some WhiteOut on the latch and then close it- this will put some paint on the hood (white out comes off EZ anyways, just scratch n sniff ) and mark the spot where the hood is touching the latch and not allowing it to close fully. VIS is pretty good with hoods thou, wait till you get a Hood off Ebay for a Civic for 250 shipped and try to install it.... I have installed alot of hoods, my VIS OEM fits like a glove after grinding down the latch part right on the front.

Mytek, what size are your wheels and tires. It looks as though you have a nice amount of rubber. I'll bet your ride is pretty nice and smooth. The car looks great

Wow what a tire diameter. How much slower is the car and do you have any rubbing issues?

yes it is an OEM VIS hood...as u can tell the only issue w/ fitment is the front....it's kinda high in the middle on both sides of the grille...

it's not that much slower, actually when i get on it, i get more understeer b/c of the traction.....the only prob as far as rubbing is the rear, it rubs that piece of the fender that curves in, thats easily fixable w/ a dremel, but i'm lazy.....

well Blackbird told what I meant but it is the latch but it's where you dremel it down. I also made my latch holes bigger to get it to go down further. It hugs the bumper perfectly. For the windshield nozzles take ones off stock hood place peice of paper of the holes and go over it with a pencil the hole will be lighter. find a way to cut it out and use as template to cut hole.

VIS makes the best CF hood for our cars. I think the latch problem may only affect the 2k/1s. He told me the exact same thing, but mine fit perfectly with no modification necessary.

mine fits PERFECT! didn't have any fitment problems, and no hood latch adjustments required.

irvine78 had this hood made from KBD racing.

What about when it rains, with the invader or other scoop type hoods? Is it ok for water to go down into the engine?

Yup. It's no different then when water gets into the engine bay from any place else. But I thought the scoop on the Invader hood didn't actually leave an opening into the engine bay? Isn't it just for show? Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

It's a opening. There's a grill there. water would fall between radiator and engine. No worries.

I had a KDA hood before, and it wasn't CF, it was Fiberglass with a coat of CF over it. It flexed like crazy and if you didn't have hood pins it looked like the hood was going to fly off the car. Doing 70MPH on the highway even with hood pins the hood would BOW UP in the wheel arch area and looked nasty. Some .org member a while back insulted me for being a riceboy by having hood pins- without these I wouldn't have a hood very long. VIS on the other hand DOES NOT need hood pins. I have had mine for hmm like 6 months now and it doesn't move a bit, its even CF under the hood in the latch area. I have pics of the KDA hood on my computer, the latch looked like ****, and so did the rest of the hood. I got it from CustomMaxima.com through a group deal they had a loooooong time ago, I got my hood and they cancelled everyone elses order as they found some kinda flaw in them or something like that. VIS makes the best CF hoods.

You should get some freakin' huge, chrome hood pins, and then still use your latch so the hood pins are doing nothing. That would be sweet

I got home from work yesterday and my girlfriends dad had my hood on and fitting perfectly (took her car to work). I think it looks really good! The upper and lower grilles, and the black housing of my projectors, make it look even better. The only problem is that i just have two rubber hoses sticking out of the hood because I couldnt get the old washer nozzles out. Any suggestions on how to get them out or where to buy new ones (that arent chrome)? How do I get pics up in a thread?
