Help replacing lights in the dashboard! Take off the whole dashboard?
Ok. I just had to replace my altinator in my car (died after 50k miles) After I got it fixed, I noticed that two (or what I think would be two) lights that illuminate one side of the auto climate control buttons in the dashboard went out. I ordered two of the lights from nissan, (because in the diagram at nissan it showed that their were four lights behind the climate control system.) I was just wondering how to get to em. I don't want to have to take my dashboard off, and I don't want to have to pay $130 in labor to the stealership to have them replaced. I know people have changed their consol lights to different colors, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Also, any one have a guide maybe?

Auto climate controls or manual? Not sure how to change the lights on an auto climate control.
To change the light bulbs on a manual climate control, you'll have to take out the center air vent and the shifter console. Remove the 4 screws and then remove the stereo/climate control. From there, you'll have access to the climate control unit.

I wish someone had a diagram or something. The auto CC should be the same as the manual (since we are just replacing the lights behind the buttons. (not the auto screen itself.) I know people have done it before (saw pics of a dash with blue lights instead of the regular dull green.) Four screws in the back of the air vents disconnects the radio and the climate control huh? I'll give it a look.

the bulbs is $4 and you have to go back to the dealer to get it...i dont have exact part number but when you go to the dealer tell them exactly where the bulb is located and they can pull it up on the ACC schematic.....it is a tiny bulbs-about the size of a pencil eraser..i will try to find the package mine came in and give you the part number if the dealer cant help you
