vibration in wheel at 40 mph+
first, my tire has a slow leak in it. i filled it up on thursday, usually it lasts about 5 days or so, maybe a little more. anyway, saturday morning was the last time i drove my car besides this morning. i parked the car saturday at around 1:30 PM and it basically sat there until 830 this morning when i drove it to work. anything over 40 mph my steering wheel vibrates a good amount, and 50 it wobbles around enough to make me nervous. im *hoping* this is just cuz the tire needs air combined with it sitting for so long on the same spot. am i correct? or is there more to it than that?
Very well could be caused by what you described. Tires, especially sport tires that have fairly hard sidewalls tend to "temporarily" flat spot in extreme cold weather when they sit for a period of time. Also, if you got any of this snow storm check your wheels to make sure they aren't packed with snow on the inside.
First of all, you need to get that tire fixed. It's most likely just a leaky stem. It shouldn't cost you much if anything at a tire shop. Secondly, the wobble is probably some extremely unbalanced tire or tires. Get them rebalanced when you get the tire fixed.
Same exact thing happened to me this morning. Anything above 50mph would make my steering shake like insane. It got to a point where I couldn't drive due to the wabbling, anyway, i pulled over, and cleaned out all the snow from the wheel well. Turned the steering wheel completely to the right and then to the left, got back on the road, everything was back to normal. Try that, it might just fix the problem.

i know i need to get that fixed, but unfrotunately i didnt make it high priority lately. ill try what sam said too, and inflate the tires today at the gas station, and see what happens.
do it as quicly as you can.. if you don't do it you might loose your tires... it happened to me a few months back..... need to replace the tires after buying new ones, they lasted 6 months......
I am sure you have some ice or snow frozen on the inside of the wheel. That will f the ride... My car was berried here today, so i had clean all the snow out from the inside of wheels..

If it's not the snow, it could be a bent rim, or worse a bad tire. When they change the stem (most probable cause of a slow leak), they will have to reballance the tire. Take a look at the wheel, from the inside of the ballancing machine and you will see if the rim is off kilter.
If you feel the wobble in the steering it's in front if you feel it in your seat it's in the rear.

If steering seems floaty then theres a possibility it could be related to the Transverse Link Replacement recall.. I've been having some issues with the way my car vibrates and steers as well.. It's going to the dealer on Wed. for an alignment, balancing, and rotation, and to see if its affected by the recall.

getting on the highway today it was much better. im gonna put air in tomorrow and see what happens then, then go get it fixed.
on a side note tho, going up the highway, my ABS, TSC, and SLIP lights all came on. they were like that for a while, then ABS went off and came back again. i shut off my car for about 5 seconds, and they were still on. later on i shut it off for about 20 seconds or so, when i got home, and everything is back to normal...weird.

I had the same thing happen to me last year but it took me a week to figure it out.
