Leather Seats 2k

I currently have cloth in my 2k max. I want to upgrade to 02-03 leather seats. I have one plug under each seat which are not in use, but I looked under my friends 02 max and hers had 2, a smaller and a bigger plug, I only have the bigger one. Do I need the smaller one and what is it for? Also, are there any mods required for installation?

The plugs under the seat are usually for the seat belt warning chime, power seat movement, and/or heated seat element. Are your seats powered? Most of the leater packaged seats are heated. The plug you are probably referring to could be for the heated seat element.

you could save yourself a lot of time and trouble and just buy the car with leather....

it only raises your monthly payment buy a few $

I've already done a lot with the car already to buy a new one. I don't have power or heated seats. I just don't want to buy leather seats and then have a hard time getting all the plugs to make everything work. I don't care if the heated seats work, I just care that they have power.

It wont work.

I have spent mucho time trying to get Leather power seats for my 2000 Maxima unfournately no other power seat will work in our cars. The 01,02,03 Maxima power seats will not work on the drivers side. I spoke in detail with 2 different Nissan master mechanics. The power drivers seat in the 01-03 Maxima is run on a digital signal. The 2000 is run on a analog signal the only way to make it work in a nut shell was with a whole electrical switch out the work involved was estimated at $2700 hundred foe the work not includeing the seats themselves. The whole thing was going to run upwards of $3500. So if you want a power drivers seat you have to find a 2000. One thing I did not check into was a 4th generation leather seat conversion. If anything I would focus on that. I beleive they also run on a analog signal.

how did this come out? are heated seats from an 01,02,03 compatible with a 2000? Nissan says all it needs is a harness but they dont sell any, recommended junk yard. Tried ebay but no luck.

If you can't upgrade to 02-03 leather seats just go to www.leatherseats.com and look for the seats for the Maxima, it's probably alot cheaper than going the route you are looking at.

Not sure how nice it looks, but that's the route I'd take, or simply save my money for something worth spending it on (which leather seating is not IMO).
