A/C blower rattle

My blower for my A/C/heater is making a rattle noise. If I adjust the speed it will go away for a minute or two or until I make a manuever (stop, turn etc). I suspect the bearing/bushing is bad.

Has anyone heard similar?
What was it?

My dealer said the blower was over $100 and they rarely sell any of them. He suggested I check to see if there is anything in it making the noise but it doesn't sound like that.

Any suggestions for another source for this part?

Go to a junk yard. I got one there for $65. Takes about 15 minutes to change.

This one has been going around for some time. ANY noise in the fan will only get worse. The ONLY solution is to buy a new or used one. You cannot grease or lube the bearings in the motor and it is not an interference issue. It's only a crappy Nissan design that we're stuck with. There are no fixes for it, however, the fan will keep on working, just a little louder than when it was new. Granted, mine eventually over-took my stock stereo in volume...

Do you have an aftermarket Underdrive Pulley?

I only asked becuase I know a few of us here on the board had a similar problem with our underdrive pulleys. It turns out it wasnt the AC Blower rattling it was the tensioner pulley. You should check that first before you purchsae the blower unit.

I think he's talking about the interior blower unit. Lots of posts regarding those rattles.

look into possibly getting the blower motor cover...theres a tsb on it. Either that or try cleaning it out, it worked on mine.
