Common problems......??

Hey boys, I am actually from the 4th Gen forum. But my parents have a 2000, GLE. I ranted and raved what a great and awesome car the Maxima is, and so they finally shut me up and bought one new in 2000. it seems to me that the've had some problems I don't feel should have gone wrong with a car that today went in for its 60k tune-up. These are my parents mind you, and probably drive more sophisticated than a kid. They, much like myself are right up on the maintenance of all the cars they have ever owned. So here it is, around 40k, the heater blower motor starts to make alot of noise and eventually goes. Paid to get replaced. At 50k, the ignition coils need to be replaced, ALL OF THEM. Heat shield rusts and starts making noise. Now recently, there has been a clunking in the front end, so today along with the 60k tune-up for $400. the dealer sees that the front stabilizer links are gone! WTF? Now I was working at the dealership as a salesman at the time, and actually sold them the car. I worked at this dealer for 15 years, so I'm still tight with them, so I know they're not screwing my parents. ( I don't work there anymore btw). Where this 2000 was a new model at the time, should they have waited a year b-4 buying it, so Nissan could work any bugs a new model may have? I'm a little embarrassed for myself. I have a 99 SE-L, and none of sh**, has gone. So my question being, has anyone else had these problems with their 2ks? I do know that ignition coils are a Nissan thing, because mine went at 98k. Sorry for the length of this. Before, my parents had a 92 Accord EX they bought new and put 135k on it and none of the above mentioned things went. Only thing major on the Accord, was the T-belt at 60k, but THAT'S IT! I have a feeling that their next car will not be a Nissan, but a Honda. Any thoughts maybe, to console my parents who trusted my word that the Maxima was a fine automobile, and all this sh** went by 60k, I can see 100k or more, but 60k?
Again, sorry for the length.
Thanks guys
jeff

What is this heat shield noise you speak of, what does it sound like?
