Has Anyone Changed The Spoiler for a Different One?

I've seen Body Kits, Side Skirts, Spoilers removed, but I can't recall ever seeing a different spoiler on any Maxima. I was just wondering if anyone has found anything that is a little different but still looks good on the Maxima. Please Post pics if you have them, Thanks!

My .02 cents is that I think our spoilers look really good and I wouldn't want to change it ever... You are right though I have not seen another spoiler either and would be curious to see if someone did have something unique.

Check in the 5th gen F/S forum. There's a guy selling a APC spoiler there. It looks alright, but not quite my style.

I don't want to rice anything out, just sheck out the way they look on the maxima. I have always wondered what a maxima would look like with a Skyline R34 stock spoiler on it, the front conversions for the maxima looks great!

I don't think the Skyline bumpers and wing look ricey, but they're definitely not my taste. The problem with turning your import into a "Skyline" (they make Skyline kits for just about everything now from Civics to Golfs to Maximas). Everybody has a Skyline kit, and nobody but import fans knows what Skylines are, so the general public just associates the kit with ricers instead of the legendary Skyline.

Of course, if you really like it, you shouldn't care what the general public thinks. Personally, I'd like to see some other wings for the Maxima. I like the stock one over most aftermarket models, but who knows? There could be a really clean design out there that totally blows the stock one away.

i think ALL skyline kits are ugly. why would you try to pretend to be something else.. anyhow, i think 5/5.5 gens look ugly w/o the stock spoiler truthfully...

I feel that way about most of Nissan's sedans. The Altima and new Maxima can get away with not having a spoiler (but the current Alty/Max rear end is one of those things that you either love or hate). The Sentra looks naked without it. So does the 5th gen Max.

The whole front end thing, sorry but i think the 00-01 front looks a little weak. As for the 02-03 front, a lot better but if I'm gonna spend 200-300 on a front bumper and grill to make my car look a little nicer or more aggressive, I'm not goin to go with the same bumper that 25,000 cars were built with (or whatever the amount of cars built from 02-03) I'm not bagging on those that don't have a different bumper etc, but I just want something a little original and with a little bit of a flair. I've done research on these front ends, and the nicest one I found was the R34 conversion, which I have not seen ANYONE from the org with it. I know the Skyline is popular, but with good reason. Just my 2 cents.

Stock spoiler still looks the best, IMO... or no spoiler..... if ya want something different, a tasteful kit will do wonders, if that's your thing, but unless there are spoilers out there I don't know of, whatever is out there now just doesn't look right on a Max....

I am tempted to buy it off Ebay for 40 bux, but I msg the seller to see if its just a lip that needs to be molded to the contour of the trunk or if its all pre-molded. I hate the stock Maxima rear spoiler, from the side it looks like an afterthought.

G35 Spoiler

I put a G35 sedan spoiler on my 00 max because I hate the third post in the middle on the factor spoilers. Let me know what you guys think.

are you talking about a white maxima that says maxima zero? If so, no one has it because it was never made but that would be a nice kit if someone made it right. Unfortunately, no one ever does.

I like the G35 Spoiler, but I think the I30/35 would look even better - same as ours, but no middle pillar.

Oh and a deck lid spoiler, yeah, I agree with that, It would look way nicer. Just haven't seen one for the maxima.

Ya, exactly. I like mine, but I think it would look even better without the middle pillar.

agreed.
if the m3/m5 trunk spoiler was put on, i would have to fill some holes. and then paint the trunk and spoiler. (is there anything i'm forgetting?)
here's the question:
would i have to install a 3rd brake light in my rear window to pass inspection?

the 3rd brake light is in the spoiler (obviously), but if i remove it...
then this whole spoiler thing gets more expensive and complicated with the installation of a rear window third brake light. then again, do i legally NEED a third brake light, safety aside?

you can probably source the 3rd brake light from a junk yard along with a rear deck lid piece- if your car has BOSE, then you need a GLE deck lid. I am not sure if you need the 3rd brake light to be legal in your state- as some states have inspections that they do on cars to make sure everything is working. I know in IL as long as your 2 normal lights are working the cops aint going to give you **** bout not having the 3rd one working.

I don't know about CO, or IL but in Cali the third brake light is never required, just an added safety feature. Just check your local DOT info about third brake lights (i'm pretty sure that in california you are only required one light that shows both brake and running light)

are you talking about the one from VIS then? then your right, 1 person has that one. Good luck with getting people to buy it though, a while back when pix first came out people didnt like how wide the front air dam was, said that you better put "a big a** intercooler in that b*tch"

you have to look at the maxima zero photoshop though, that one is hot.

P.S. Lowering springs ordered.

I like the look, you should do a write up on it for the how tos...was it a direct bolt on etc.

Also, do you still have those wheels for sale and if so how much $$?

Very nice.... I like it... where'd ya get it? From a dealership? A G35 owner?

That's one spoiler I might actually consider on my car....

And yeah, overall your car is nice, but needs a lil drop...

Thanks for the props fellas. I got it from spoiler depot off ebay. First I checked the dimensions of the spoiler vs. stock and it was very close. So I called spoiler depot here in Miami and asked if I could go there and see what it looks like on my car. I did, looked good, bought it. Install wasn't hard or wiring. I'll update pics maybe friday or saturday. I get my Teins S on Friday. Boo Ya!

I still have the rims, I'm undecided if I want to keep sell. I'm waiting to see if lowering makes me like them more. People compliment me all the time, but I dont like dark wheels that much, people talked me into buying them. Maybe $1100 if i was.

P.S. I'm a newbie, how come I can't post pics, need a certain amount of posts or need to donate or something???

Add me to your buddy list or something cause I would be interested in your wheels if you decide to sell em. Did the holes on the sides of the G spoiler match up to the factory holes on the Max? What did you do to fill the holes in the middle of your trunklid?

Go here to learn how to add pics:
http://forums.maxima.org/misc.php?do=bbcode
you'll need to set up a site at www.cardomain.com or another pic hosting website.

My GLE didn't have a spoiler so I didn't have holes in da trunk. I honestly can't remember if it's two or four bolts.
