03 Maxima SE for $18500?

Im currently in the market to buy a newer maxima. I saw one for sale and plan to meet with the person this week. 2003 NISSAN MAXIMA, 26,200 mi, air bags, abs, ac, ps, cc, lthr (no heated seats), p/seats, p/windows, am/fm, stereo & CD, pdl, p/mirrors, sunroof, spoiler, 26K mi., 6 Spd man., Ext Warranty for $18500. So what does everyone think? I think I should jump on this since its a manual and theyre pretty rare.

6 speeds are rare...seems like a good deal for 26K miles.

it seems like a fair price....i see that it has no HLSD and meridian package.....so it isn't fully loaded....also it might not have ATC (auto temp control)....so thats a minus if u want all the luxuries...

i say u try to work it out to a lower price....the extended warranty is nice, but i know u can do better on that price....and no don't rush yourself on this maxima....cuz there will be plenty out there if u just give it a few more....

oh yeah totally forgot bout the Titanium package.....basically titanium package is like a special trim offered in the 03 maximas.....it comes with special interior trim, chrome door steps, etc.....makes your car more exculsive than the other maximas.....and HLSD is = helical limited slip differential....it has to do with the transmission distributing equal amounts of power to both wheels....this helps when your running the twisties....

i saw the ad you provided....this looks like a base 6spd with the only option being leather and sunroof.....u should work on the price a little....i know i wouldn't pay $18.5 for a car thats not fully loaded...

That Maxima isn't "fully loaded" with the Meridian or Titanium packages, but it's still fairly nice. All the major accessories are power (that's true for all 5th gen Maximas), so it's not like you'll be cranking the windows up manually or anything. As far as the "premium" Bose audio system... be glad that Max doesn't have it. It's a giant waste of money. Automatic climate controls are nice, but I actually end up fiddling with them just as much as I used to mess with manual controls. You won't really lose anything by having manual control.

Honestly speaking, if I could make my purchase again, I would NOT buy another fully loaded SE. I love my Maxima, but I'm going to modify it, so most of the extra stuff I paid for on my SE is going to be replaced with aftermarket parts anyway. I could've saved money by going with a Max that had fewer options.

mmm I won't buy it BC the price isn't fair to me....

This week I'm in Florida and Friday I saw a Maxima 2k3 6speed with HSLD and meridian package... I couldn't resist so I went to see this baby.....She's very very clean and the dealer start making all kind of promotions and he starts with $19995 ,so in that moment i told him about the issues with the headlights, manifloid and the guy came with $16995....(3000k down just like that!!!) This is not BS....

842 N.Mills Av, Orlando www.mikeauto.com

So that tells you........ there will be plenty out there if u just give it a few more...

my max is bone stock. no options whatsoever. i kinda wish i had a sunroof/moonroof though. i dont care for ATC or bose (cuz i destroyed my stock system within months lol). i have no idea what heated steering wheel feels like. i kinda miss heated seats and leather though but i really like the fabric anyway.

i got a 2002 GLE with the meridian package with 23K miles for $16K last week. But my car is a year older than yours. I bought an extended warranty through my credit union for 85K miles or 72 months for 900 bucks. But it has a 50 dollar deductable. I bought it from an Acura dealer in Austin. Checking the online inventory of lucury car dealers may work for you. They took on my car rather than dumping it on to the local Nissan dealership thinking it would be easy to sell but no one came looking for a used car there, everyone wanted the new RL and TL.

That sounds a little pricey. I only paid $18k for mine 4 months ago and it's loaded (-Meridian and Nav though) with the same kind of mileage. Stick with the 6 spd though...you'll luv it!

Not that great of an offer. I paid $20,000 for mine but it was exactly what I wanted. Silver with black leather, 6 speed, auto climate control, TE, meridan, and under 32k miles. I agree with the Bose being a waste of money though. I admit that I paid a lot, but I am EXTREMELY everytime I drive. Best of luck shopping.

In New York, with that headlights every morning you will wake up wondering if they are still on your car....

My brother-in-law who lives in NYC had his stolen less than 2 weeks after purchase.

I live in Northern NJ, and two (02 and 03) maximas had both headlights stolen less than 1 month of sitting out in our parking lot (and we are upper middle classish neighborhood). they both had the lights replaced, and before a month passes, one of the cars had both re-stolen, and the other had driver's side stolen. the dude who got both sets stolen twice must have replaced the car because it was gone and replaced by a TL (who was #1 headlamp theft-ed before the 02 max). The guy who got his driver's side stolen had it replaced and 2 months later, both were stolen again, and he replaced it with halogens from 00-01, and then a month later they took his 17" wheels... The lot was NEXT to the police department, and the police here work really hard. It's just the spree is out of control...

Two times, I saw 02-03 maximas on the road at night, and they have no headlights on, and I would get behind them and flash them to remind them. After a long time they still do not turn on their lights. After we come to a stop at a traffic light, I see from the street lights that the cars are missing their headlamps...

I like Nissan cars, but I think the whole headlamp thing is a fiasco that Nissan should be responsible for.

So if i was to just look at a maxima pic to tell if it had the meridian package, it should have the heated seat switches below the armrest, and different wheels for the titanium package, more or less?

The Meridian package comes with heated seats, heated steering wheel, and heated outside mirrors. on the 2003 Maxima, the Meridian package was available on Maxima's that had the Titanium package. So basically if you have the Meridian package on your 2003, then you also have the Titanium edition package as well.

I paid 18,400 for my Black HLSD 6-speed with Black Leather, Meridian package, the works, and it had 31,000 on the odometer when I picked it up. The best they would do was knock off 500 bucks, but I was happy anyway since at the time, that price was already below retail price. If your going to buy the one as listed, at least get them to knock off a grand with a little game of "phone tag."

I was referring to the 2003 as above. The options and package requirements were different in 2002.
