Engine cover issue

So here's the problem. The big Nissan emblem on my engine cover is chrome right? Well it's that fake plastic chrome... anyways its bubbling off! I want to paint my engine cover but I need to fix that first. It's under warranty, will the dealer replace it even though it's only cosmetic?

They'd probably replace it, but I don't know for sure. Every 5.5 gen I've ever seen had the same problem. Check out my sig to see what a painted cover looks like. You only need standard car paint, nothing fancy like high temp. You may also want to get your grill painted. I've been stopped several times (once by a cop!?!?) just to comment about my grill. If you do that, be prepaired to open your hood a lot. You'll get oohs and ahhs when they see the cover painted. Be sure to NOT stop there, though, or you'll get laughed at. Get an intake and FSTB to start. Then a grounding kit along with dress-ups. I've been toying with mine for some time now while trying to keep the outside basically stock except for the grill. Only other maxima owners will notice and, believe me, they'll like.

BTW: I need to update my pics. There's more goodies under the hood now.

my nissan sign is tearing apart too....i bet its cuz of the super hot temps under the engine bay that loosens the material over the emblem

I bet it's just a crappy emblem. Like I said, everyone has the same problem. Engine temp? Probably not or else my engine cover would have peeled by now.

I'm gonna call the stealer Monday... wanna have the engine cover fixed, wind noise taken care of, and I wanna make sure any recalls and TSB's have been taken care of... I'll post pics when I'm done.

There's a TSB out for the emblems -- you can replace the individual emblem now instead of having to order the whole cover.
