Question on Climate Control

I have been noticing some weird behaviour on my climate control. When I start the car in the morning ( with the "AUTO" option on), the display shows none of the blades highlighted ( the 4 blades of the fan to show fan speed) and no air is blowing from the vents. If i switch it to manual and then turn auto on, it comes on to the correct setting ( 1/2/3/4 blade position with the fan working)...any idea why this is so?

Perhaps your temp control is on too low? Play with the temp control.. if that' doesn't solve it, open up your plastic around the gauge cluster, and on the lower right u'll see the tiny vent area where the auto climate tube is connected, see if it's plugged into the little vent properly, hope this helps

in the AUTO mode, your car won't start pumping out heat until the engine warms up. it will do this automatically and will eventually pump more or less hot air into the cabin in order to maintain the set temperature. it does this so that you don't get blasted with cold air.

hope that answers your question.

It's just as 2003Titanium said above. I just wanted to add that the same applies to "ECON" mode...

There's nothing wrong with the climate control, so breathe a deep sigh of relief!

Interesting... mine only does that on ECON... but when its on AUTO... it starts right away, even when the engine is cold....

hmm...mine does that in both modes econ or auto. Even in my 4th gen same behavior. You live in a warm climate?

My car does what you guys are saying. It usually waits until the engine warms up before it starts the fan up. I don't remember if it did this in the summer, but I know that it does it every morning in the winter. It makes sense, really. I mean, I can have the heater on 85 degrees, but no matter how high I crank the fan, all I will get is cold air until the car warms up. I kinda like the fact that I don't get a blast of cold air when I'm looking for heat.

If I switch it to the windshield defroster, it does not hesitate. It automatically starts blowing air on the windshield, even if it isn't warm yet.
