Headlight Situation

hey guys, i'm a member over on altimas'net so i knew about this site. A friend of mine ordered a set of projector headlights for his 2000 maxima. The question i have is, his stock headlights only have 1 bulb for the headlight, then another for the blinker...as far as i know. The new headlights have 2 headlight bulbs...or at least a headlight and an angel eye. I would assume his stock harness will would need another bulb to fill the new set. Whats the easier way to hook it up. P.S. i could be totally wrong about his stock harness, but i'm just guessing. hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks in advance fella's

yeah the stock h4/9003 bulb connectors have three connectors for the high low funstion, so in a way its almost liek 2 bulbs in one. two filiments. so it all works out.

i heard HID's dont fit in the projectors for the 2k-2k1 maximas? you have to somehow retrofit them in? what's the deal with that? anyone know?

HIDs will fit; you will just need to rebase the HID bulb to fit the H3 socket. The light output is better than just using the h3 halogen bulb.
It is strongly suggested to use HID projectors though. The projectors should be replaced with valeo or phillips HID projectors. That retrofit can be expenisve though; ballast, igniter, projectors, bulb, harness, and whatever else I forgot to mention cost around $430.
Dr.Roy has done an MDX retrofit on his projectors and the cut-off line looks pretty sharp. He used halogen projectors but it seems they can handle HID. After modding the projector, he got pretty good color.
Try to look for his cardomain, he has a write up.

HIDFORUM.com

I was planning to do this. It allows for the d2s bulb to fit into certain sockets like h4, h3, h1, etc. Unless you buy a kit that specifically comes with a bulb to fit the h3 socket, you'll have to change the base of the bulb. This comes into play if there are bulbs for sale or if you want to change your HID color (from lets say 5000k to 6400k)
i havent had any experience hands on but i have been seriously reading hidforum.com because I am looking to do the retrofit. here is the noob section of thier forum.
