Car shut off on me :(
Car shut off on me :(
Okay, well first of all, I get the egg smell in my car. So I know that my cat needs to be replaced but last night I put my car in park and left it on and went to my trunk to get something, came back and I see the car turned off. So I start the car up, and it stayed on fine. Also, lately i've been noticing that when I am cruising, and I floor it or push gas in even half way, basically whenever it downshifts, the car lags. It doesn't move like it used to. My question is, could this be because of MAF? Clogged Catalytic conv? Anyone had any sort of problems like me?
Question 2 is, i'm gonna replace my MAF, do I need to reset my ECU if i get a new MAF? I read that new MAFs require ecu resetting..

See my problem is that the car turns off on my at low RPM's like when coming up to a stop sign or stop light. Car just buckels and shuts off once i put it into neutral so i have to remember to downshift to 1st gear right before i stop (a big pain in the ***) and also like even stopped at a light or something it idles really low like 500 rpm and car shakes then it realizes and goes back up to like the normal 750 rpm then comes back down shakes like its gonna turn off then adjusts again and again and again - sometimes even turns off on it own like this.
Never had a check engine light come on or SES light with all this and it throws no codes which i dont understand.
I am so confused with this car guys, i dont know what to do

Those two codes mean you're running rich, possible causes include:
1)Primary 02s
2)Injectors
3)Exhaust gas leaks
4)Incorrect fuel pressure
5)Mass air flow sensor
I'd replace the MAF and see if the codes come back, then replace the front 02s(Black/Blue).
As far as being slow on the top-end, if you mean 5000-6400rpm, check your VIAS power valve.

Maximus, mine does the same thing...I have heard alot of possible causes but no one has said what the real deal is yet. If you rev my engine up in neutral and let it drop it drops way low and then to idle almost dieing. It has died twice on me while going around a corner trying to shift into first.
Check your maf wire and see if it's oily from your K&N.

I'd have to say both 02s being bad at the same time is unlikely, so the MAF which controls the Air/Fuel ratio via the ECU to *BOTH* banks is more likely.
If you've got over 50K miles on the front 02s, then it's a good idea to change them anyways though.

Perhaps tehre is a leak somewhere in the intake manifold.
