Weird codes.

So driving today my light came on after a hard acceleration from a stop.

I got a P0171 & P0174
banks are lean, cleared codes seems fine.

Any clue as to what can cause this ?

Possible Cause
NFEC0487

Intake air leaks

Heated oxygen sensor 1 (front)

Injectors

Exhaust gas leaks

Incorrect fuel pressure

Lack of fuel
Mass air flow sensor

These are right from the ESM

Thats kinda scary. even with 93 octane fuel it pings under load like a diesel so i back off abit till i dont hear it anymore till i get up to speed.

If your car is pinging on 93 octane, you probably do have a lean condition.

So what would cause a lean condition ? knock sensor ? low fuel pressure? bad readings from the O2 Sensors ? Failing MAF ?/

So, I replaced the Front O2 Sensor 3 wire heated, No More codes, No More pinging at any load, Quicker throttle response, smoother starts, Feels like a new car, Tomorrow I'am replacing the other 2 just to be on the safe side. The old one had 128k miles on it.

Cleaned the MAF with some CRC Maf cleaner, i had it sideways, made it sticking strait up and one person told me the goofy filter i have may be making the air flow past the maf all swirly and giving in accurate readings, so i straightened the maf and put a new filter on. so far so good, lets see how long it lasts.
