weird RPM behavior

arite...i don't know if my car has been doing this all along, or maybe i just realized it but here's my story:

i drive a 2k auto and whenever i step on the gas, my RPM goes up to, let's say 2000. then i immediately let go of the gas and the RPM dips really quick down to about 800 and then without me touching the gas, it goes to 1100 by itself. is this normal at all???

Thanks for the help.

rpms going up when gas is hit, OK. rpms going down when let off, OK. rpms going up by themself, not OK. when you drive first thing in the morning or even when its warmed up, do you have to push the gas harder than before to get it moving? i am wondering if there is a buildup on the butterfly in the throttle body and in a sense it is sticking.
have you received any ses lights at all? i could be a dying maf or coil issue but most likely, those failures will trigger the ses.

It's the coils.... the bad ones are still in there.. they act up when it heats up... you had the code pulled and reseted, so it's fine for now until.. well soon... happen to me.. i have a 2k GLE

my coils would act up every few months or so..just spontaneously
cold days maybe contributed to the problem more????
