I originally posted in the Gen Forum but no one has replied with an answer so I figured I would ask here b/c alot of 5th Gens have switched out their horns for the 350z horn. Here is my original thread:

Does anyone know if the 350z Sport Horn (here) sounds different from the stock 350z Horn? I looked on Ebay and some descriptions of the sport horn say, "Do you want your Z to sound different." Well, I want the horns that sound like the stock Z, deeper than ours. Jerry Rome has stock Z horns for about $90 for the set (high and low) opposed to $45 for the "sport horn" set. Also, I don't want the hella horns so please don't suggest those. Thanks and any info is appreciated.

 

Call Dave B up. Just get the horns from the 350z from him.

 

I've heard that the Sport horns are higher pitched than the OEM Z horns. I have the OEM Z horns and I like them very much.

I have the 350Z sport horn. Sounds much better than stock! I believe the 350Z OEM's are better, hence the higher price. I think the sport's, though, sounds just as good. Check my homepage for pics.

 

I have the 350z horns on and I think they sound high pitched like 2 clarinets. Definately different than stock (which is good).

 

i have the JDM sport horns and they are much higher pitched than OEM. people have told me it sounds like a horn from a ferrari or lambo.

 

How is the install on them? Direct plug-in or gotta retrofit it??
