Power Loss after installing cold air intake, MAF issue...?

So after I put my cold air intake on, whats happening is only during WOT my car seems to bog down around 3200 - 3500rpm or so, did I mess up my MAF or what? This is 2k max with 50K mkiles. Ive seen alot of threads on this but I think my issue may be user error -

by bogging down do you mean it is less reponsive

becuase the CAI moves your power band so at that rpm range you fee lless power then before

Basicly under WOT, the rpm's and power are rising normally, but at about 3200rpm, I get a big dip in power like V-tec but backwards, lol I think I may have damaged my MAF during the install

I really wish i knew the term they use for this. Its like after 3200 rpm, my engine changes to a 4 cylinder. Theres a list of cars with less hp than me beating me to the highway. I'm gonna replace the MAF, reprogram, and keep my fingers cross. I dont recall this prob before my intake.

i know some people have had issues with the filter being too tight in the
wheel well, and with it being lodged against the plastic protector. not sure
if that would cause your problem.if that's the case, you could try a smaller filter.

did you find the install easy? was cutting the hole an issue?

Try to re-install your old filter and box to see if it still does it. If it fix's your problem then I would say it is a bad design with the cold air intake. If it still does it test the MAF with a volt-meter(continuity test).

Hope this helps

mine did the exact same thing a couple weeks ago with the stock system. replaced the MAF and all good now. not sure how you messed it up though! time to drop about 110 bucks!! dont worry, it will fix it though!
