4.5 liters sounds like a bunch. Doesn't Coke come in 2 liter bottles?

Anyway, I checked specs in several places and it sounds like dry auto tranny system takes 10 oz of ATF and just drain/refill takes not more than 4.5 liters. I've replaced my ATF fluid recently in favor of Redline D4 ATF and used procedure which was described somwhere on the Internet:
1. drain ATF usual way.
2. disconnect hose which goes from radiator to the tranny and put it into the same bottle with old ATF. That way you'll know how much old ATF was drained. Fill 4-5 liters of fresh ATF through the charge pipe(it's where the dipstick is located), using funell.
3. start the engine and shift it to various positions, including reverse. The old ATF should come out of the hose to the bottle. When it adds up about 4 liters, add 2 more liters of fresh ATF and repeat this step until it reaches 10 liters approx. The car should be firmly on e-brake!!!
4. reconnect the hose from radiator to the tranny and add ATF to the normal level.
I didn't replace filter this time, so I can't provide any extra info. In my case I had to disconnect the hose which goes to the vertical pipe on the tranny. I think, this procedure replaces about 80-90% of old ATF.
