Anyone have pics of this spoiler installed on a 5th gen Max?

That doesn't mean it's RWD. It only means that going fast will keep better traction while turning or switching lanes.
3M double sided tape... no drilling... and people wonder why car washes don't like aftermarket crap.
As for the downforce, yeah right. At high speeds that POS would be ripped right off if the car wash didn't get to it first.

Here are some pics of this spoiler on an I35 but I can't find any pics of it on a Max. The guy says he purchased it on the .org

How often our Maxima's are going that fast is another story.
I was looking at the same auction, not really worth it for a few reason:
1) It will not generate that much down force
2) It will probably fall off
3) Even though it is "only" $38 Bucks, you still have to paint it

Amni has a point. Down force plays a role in rwd cars due to the fact that the rear wheels are the drive force
I BOUGHT ONE and tried it out.... the problem with our 5th gen's is that if you look at the trunk, its sorta slopes downwards on the sides... its sort of hard to explain but take a look at the trunk and you will see that the m3 spolier will look sort of funny since the spoiler wont be at the edge of the trunk but about 2 inches in...
A couple of quick points
1. Rear spoiler downforce is stil useful in a FWD car. Your rear wheels still play a powerful roll in keeping the car stable. If you increase the downforce, you increase traction. That's a good thing. Look at the FWD road racers. They still have spoilers and I guarantee the guys running at SCCA nationals don't do it for the looks.
2. This "spoiler" will provide no down force. Racing spoilers stick up 2 feet for a reason. The air near the car is very turbulant at high speed and adding a spoiler on the deck of the trunk will only server to increase that turbulance. A good spoiler will stick up high enough to find stable air where it can create consistent, usable down force. This and 99% of factory spoilers are for show.
That said, if you like the way it looks, you don't need org approval. Buy it.

Spoilers are just cosmetic and provide little or no downforce on street cars. I say little because they do provide some downforce if you're driving well into triple digits (but at those speeds you have to worry about some lift on the front end). Rear end force plantig the car is for the most part the weight distributed over the rear wheels, plus the difference between lift and downforce (but likely just negligible).

"Function and form strike a perfect balance with the optional Aero Package. It includes a functional rear spoiler and underbody diffusers that reduce the vehicle's overall lift to zero and drag coefficient to .28. It also provides a dramatic finish to the G35's silhouette"
this is taken off of the Infiniti web page for the "aero package" for the G35c.
a spoiler will provide downforce to help counteract air turbulence under the car that wants to create lift. and no a spoiler does not have to be two feet off the car to function. between the underbody diffusers and the spoiler the G35 will be very stable at high speed, it lets the air pass right over and under the car, and any lift that is being created is being counter acted by the functional spoiler that sits RIGHT ON THE CAR.
this really is not much use to us however.... when do you go that fast?
even on the G35c it is mostly useless, it just looks nice. to really feel the effects of the "aero package" you have to be doing over 100mph....

Finally someone staying on topic...lol. I really like the lip spoiler look, but you're right...it just can't work on the 5th gen.
i actaully bought it about 2 years ago when it was still marketed towards m3's... any ways, another reason why it wont work is that the auction is a lie, the spoiler is not made to follow the maxima trunk, the m3 spoiler is actually straight and the maxima trunk is much more curved. The way i tried to solve the problem was to heat up the whole spoiler with a heat gun since the spoiler is made of a plastic type of material which is bendable to heat....
Max4Speed has it on his 4th gen. Yeah ,its a 4th gen but you asked. It looks good on his car but I was looking at the back trunk of the 5th gens and I dont think it would look too good. The curves would just throw it all off.

Ammi,
Without coming off like a d!ck, i'd really like to ellaborate on this point...
I don't see how one is the consequence from the other... Let's not get caught up on the fact spoilers on maximas are neglibile, but you are propose a rear end spoiler on any FWD vehicle is neglibile?

I have the m3 style lip spoiler on my trunk. I could really care less about the functionality, but I think it looks great. Unfortunately you have to "bend" or "curve" it to fit the rear of my trunk, and the double-sided tape doesn't really like that. I've had the tape replaced 3 times and I'm about to give it up for a conventional spoiler.
