Which exhaust system parts lead AE produce 5 more HP compare to others (GLE, GXE, SE)? Is that because the Y pipe less restrictive? I am trying to decide whether i need to change my Y pipe. If it is good enough already, then i will change my B pipe and no need to bother with Y pipe.
As far as i know the AE exhaust system is the same with Infiniti's. But i couldn't find that information that i asked above.
Please help guys.

i THINK it is because they made the cattback pipes slightly bigger, i think that is what i read when AE edition first came out...

i could be wrong though.

 

Actually, its a big mystery here on the forums, but we also think Nissan is a magical wizard since they can pull horsepower out of it's a** like a rabbit out of a hat.

Seriously, its unknown. I think i heard someone say the b-pipe has a different part number or something.

 

Maybe it was the Vlsd, produced more horespower at the wheels???

it probably isnt there but the ae has a different b pipe and ecu part numbers. some think its the muffler but its the same muffler with different tips.

 

Its the EEMM (Extremely Excited Marketing Manager) that produced the extra 5hp.....

 

maybe it has one of those 5whp nismo stickers hidden somewhere in the car . . .

 

its the downpipes from the muffler..lol...

but seriously i honesly think its a joke ... nissan just wanted to make the AE seem faster.. with 5HP as we all know dont do jack

 

the AE uses an Infiniti I-30 muffler which is less restrictive...but does that produce the advertised 5 extra HP?? you cant really prove it either way...but if you have +5 crank HP, the wheel HP gains will be nothing
