Yikes, might want to grab a respirator next time. you would be amazed what particulates and gasses will do to your lungs.......... Good job on the paint though

How much did it cost you to paint them?

I might want to repaint my front bumper and the lips

Did you think of painting the tail lights body color where it's black. I think that would look good.

Good job. I see a new rock, gravel nick on my Max every day. If I get mine painted, I will definitely add a clear bra.

malecki, i would paint yours on the side but im not a pro i'd be afraid of something happening to it and i'm responsible for it. lol i should have worn a respirator didnt even think of it until my teacher pointed it out to me...i used 220 grit wet sand paper to get the knicks out, went over whole bumpers with 400 grit wet sand paper to smooth it than used 2 stages of scuff pads (coarse and fine) to make it even smoother...made 1 mistake at 1 part of front bumper i needed to get paint cracks out and i sanded far into the bumper we didnt realize that we should have primered it than painted that spot....paint came out bumpy on that spot but we saved it using a scuff pad after the base coat dried. I used DuPont base and DuPont clear. Since I am a student in the shop, it only costed me for supplies. Paint and sanding paper about $110 for both bumpers...some shops would charge as much as $400-500 maybe more. i didnt want to paint the taillights body color i like the almost carbon fiber look to them it gives the max a distinct look....besides painting that could lead to peeling/chipping down the road. Clear bras DO work but i've heard after a long time dirt collects on the edges of it a little may need to use very fine sand paper to get rid of it than buff the paint out. As long as your paint is well taken care of (waxed washed and if possible garaged) it is very easy to match the color. My max was always waxed and garaged and it still is! You don't need talent...when i first joined the shop i had NO IDEA how to paint or do bodywork. This is my 3rd year and I've learned a lot. Hoping to get a job this summer in a body shop...possibly a BMW/Mercedez dealer....one guy working there (obviously for a while now) makes just over $40/hour to to bodywork...wicked!!
