help! oil pressure light!

so those of us in so. cali know it was raining like a mad man on friday night. I was in san diego visiting my girlfriend for valentine's day weekend, driving home late at night. I hit a puddle, lost control of my car, swerved all over the freeway, did a 360, and through God's good grace or whoever

I recovered control a foot away from the center divider. I didn't hit anything, no dings or scratches on my car.

Two days later...

i notice in the morning, my car is running a little rough. Not accelerating as smooth as she usually does. 50 miles into my trip back to san bernadino... my oil pressure light comes on. Scared, i pull over ... when my car rattles, the oil pressure flickers... when i brake hard, it shuts off... accelerate, it turns back on, etc.

my car is at the dealer's awaiting a diagnostic.

Are these two related? could the stress from spinning my car mess up my oil pump? could the K&N cone i installed void my bumper to bumper warranty (i'm still under 36k)?? is my car f'ed?

can't sleep... my valentine's in the hospital. someone please help

man this brings back bad memories...

my best friend has a 97 Cadillac Seville STS... well he wanted to keep up through some turns and he lost it and hit something in the road....

he ripped off his oil pan and pushed his sub frame back 2 inches... it was $800 under totaling value to fix it. they had to replace the engine and fix the frame... he is going to ge trid of it and he just bought an 02 Seville STS... man that car is nice....

If it was your oil pump and you continued to drive it, you may have to get a new engine too. This happened to my 95 grand am too and I drove the car for about 2 blocks to get it back to my house and that in itself ruined the engine.

depends....

my fience owned a 97 Passat. well she tells me that her oil light has been on for a MONTH!!!! so took it to the dealer and it was the oil pump, all they had to do i think was replace the rings. they also wanted me to pay for it (car was a year old) so i told them to give me back the car, i will be back in half an hour with the car on a flatbed and you can give me a new car... they decided to honor the warranty.

yeah but the oil pump in our cars is not easy to get too. Its right behind the crank pulley and is almost part of the block it seems like
