Owners of the ViS CF hood

How is the fitment of the OEM CF hood?

Is there a problem with the latch?

Where (besides ebay $308 + $150 shipping) can I get this hood?

damn shipping is a lot more than when I got my CF hood for my civic last summer. I got it for $378 shipped, and I think it was like $300 before. The company was called bodykitsNW but they are a Honda only if I remember correctly. Sorry I couldn't help with where else to find as I am fairly new to Maxima's still.

I got mine from South West Autoworks for I belive 550 shipped like in September or so, fitment is great and no hood pins are even needed. Hood held up to many 130+MPH runs just fine. I belive VIS is the best hood out there for a Maxima, and I had some other brand hood before that one that just fit like azz.

Seems to me like $458 shipped is a lot cheaper

I might want to buy it...still want to know from others if it's worth it.

i got mine from SCO/SWA. with our ORG discount, it was $522 shipped or something. i didnt know if the ones on ebay were real VIS, and i didnt wanna deal with it if it wasnt. the best price i found PERIOD was from illstreet.com, $400 for the hood and $100 shipping flat rate. but i called VIS, they had them listed as a vendor, but said they hadnt purchased a hood from them for 2 years, which kinda weirded me out.

i cant comment on fitment yet cuz its still in transit tho.

looks pretty good, u might have to adjust the height of the latch on the car to hold the hood on tighter.... =)

Well this guy on Ebay sells a lot of ViS hoods to many people. He has 97.4% feedback out of a 1000 buyers.

yeah, i saw him, and i really thought about getting it from him. i looked thru his feedback to see if anyone mentioned that they got a real VIS hood. but nothing. those pictures are obviously not a good indicator, cuz he can steal them right from VIS. i just didnt want to run the risk of it showing up at the body shop and not having that VIS tag on it.

if it isnt a VIS hood, are you gonna refuse it?

when i spoke with VIS (im sure you know this already), they said all VIS hoods come wrapped in the VIS tape, and they have the logo stamped on the hood, like it shows in the picture in the auction.

yup,OEM is the way to go. OEM is sitting at my body shop right now, they said it came in perfect condition (from SCO).

but ive seen that hood on one of he accords on V6P a while back, and it DID look very nice with the right lip kit, but it doesnt work on the max, the hood isnt right and those vents make it look terrible.

Sadly no one wants to make a Group Deal so I took it upon myself to buy the hood...(with inflation ) it should be about the same...I only Paid $38 more than you did and it's not a group deal.
