Traffic School Online ROCKS!!!!
What a joke! People will always find ways to bend traffic laws and get around pain in the **** rules.
For example:
---------------
I recieved a ticket for speeding in California on one of my monthly trips home to Arizona. So, I decided to try an online traffic study course yesterday to replace the standard BORING 8-hour sit down in a classroom with some wantabee cop trying to scare you into practicing "safer driving techniques". Anyways, I glazed through the course while listening to my MP3's(Bye Napster!) in about 6-7hrs with several breaks. Then I went to a Kinko's took a final exam in about 20 minutes and I'm done. Except for the whopping $25 charge plus like $30-40 more for Californias' charges.
Interesting things I actually learned:
----------------------------------------
1) You can repeat driving school for California traffic offenses once every 18-months without ANY points being added to your license. In Arizona, I believe you can only do driving school once every 3-years.
2) If you recieve another ticket withIN 18-months, you can request to complete driving school again to avoid ANY points from being added to your license if the court approves.
3) White and amber bulbs are legal in the FRONT turn signals.
4) Red and amber bulbs are legal in the REAR turn signals.
I'm not sure if anyone who doesn't live or drive regularly through California appreciates their laws, but I sure do.

Go to webtrafficschool.com I ended up finishing the text based in less that 2 hours. My brother said screw with the reading and finished in less than one hour. All you have to do is just go to the end section and take their mini quizes. if you get it wrong, it'll tell you the answer and then you do it again (lame). The final is a whopping 20 QUESTIONS

Recently in San Diego I got a ticket as well. Took the traffic101.com. Was like 30 bucks and they mail you a cert. in 2 days.
You take 4 mini tests then a big test and you are done.
I did it all in less than an hour. The trick is to open two browsers to the site. They haven't figured this out yet, but you keep one browser in the section material and the other you jump to the test. Then if you get stuck, you and switch over to the other browser and look it up. If you miss one, you can keep the results open and bring the other browser up to the test and fly through it inserting the correct answers.
The ticket was stupid as well. 4 lanes, two turn left and two turn right (freeway offramp). I needed to go straight so I went straight. No traffic anywhere. Cop just sitting there. Walked over to me and gave me a ticket on the other side. Totally sucked as he didn't even have to drive after me or anything and my car was only a few days old. Made me feel like a cheap date.

Question for those of you who have taken one of these courses...
Do all states accept these online courses as legit? I figured that the course had to be supported by the license issuing state in order for it to count ofr anything. For instance...could I go to traffic101.com or webtrafficschool.com and turn it into the VA state DMV? If so sign me up. I have 8 pts on my license and need to get that number down.
Thanks,

In Texas it's even easier. You can take the whole course and exam online (6 hrs total), it costs $40 and you get the certificate in a day or two.

I got a speeding ticket on Hwy 161 in Irving, TX which has a 60mph speed limit. I got a ticket for doing 72..... OVER! Yes, that's right... I was doing 132. If I had known there was a cop behind me, I could have lost him several times over. Instead I slowed down to normal speeds and he caught me a few miles down the road. DOH! Well, I did get lucky and just get a ticket (not hauled off to jail). I did this attorney thing (paid him $35 and the courts $205 - half of my $410 fine) and all was said and done.
This is just one example, but I used it a couple of times. It's better than sitting in a stupid class for 8 hrs.

In Texas it's even easier than that. You can take your ticket to an attorney and pay him $35. By doing that you can get "deferred ajudication" which is basically a 90 day probation. You pay half of the fine on the ticket and it doesn't go on your record at all (providing you don't get another ticket in 90 days). Actually I think you can take this option even without having an attorney.
