No you don't need a new caliper, I have been running my car for two years now with the seal of the caliper. The only problem is that all the dirt gets in there and might lock your caliper. I cleaned it with brake cleaner and and lubricant. I do it every 6 months and wait until it fails if it does...... A new caliper will cost you in the $300.00, I checked the price with Dave B, but it is working now after the big clean I did to it.
Good luck... don't worry ...

I'm going through the similar problem now. Those rubber things are called dust seals. I noticed mine are also popped out, so I'm planning to change them. Local dealer (Philly, PA) quoted me $50 for the kit (dust seals and some other parts for both wheels). Though they don't have those in stock, and it takes 2 days for them to arrive here.
BTW, where did you get that tool for turning the piston?(how much?)

If the link doesn't work, do a search on part # SUM-W80621
you cna get the a tool that attaches to a rachet to turn the pistion. sears had one for like $11 or so
the dealer also sells a seal kit for replaceing the boot at about $50 or something ( from another thread I saw this)
also use some wd40 aroudn the boot when you are turning to keep it from binding.

You can also buy the ratchet attachment at autozone! It's just a metal cube with various outstickings and one of them fits our calipers properly.
$300 - geeze! I know you can buy cheaper if you go with something from autozone/advance auto parts, though it won't be OEM, but to save half that money I'd be willing to go with the cheaper unit
