Ses ?

Hey guys I was driving home last weekend and I turned on the heater after work cause it was pretty chilli outside (in south fl)

Anyways I was driving and all of the sudden the SES light came on.

Ive change the oil recently , My question is ..is the SES hooked up to any other sensor? could it be a Bad Coil? or maybe just in need of a Spark plugs maintiance?

Now im sure I can take it the dealer and have them check it out..But between work and stuff I was going to try and Figure it out on my own until my last hope was going to the dealer. The sad part is I used to work at Nissan in 1999 and Since then the one I worked at closed and open way way West of me and Probally lost all my buddys/Connection. Ive never really worked on Maxi's before ..I was always use to tuned and Mess with my Altima.

In short What else would make that SES light come on? if its not a bad coil ?
Ive change the Oil , I HAVENT change the Tranny fluid since I brought the car 4 months ago nor the Spark Plugs.. It doesnt Idle funny and its still smooth.
The only thing I add was a K & N drop in filter, and HID's.
Im in need of a Brake Change but im waiting for the Nice UPS guy to drop the BBK off. besides that What do you think is Setting off the SES light?

search around for that list of reasons why ses can come on or actually it is the ses codes list - it could be any of those 200 ! good luck - imo take it to autozone and have them pull the code!

The SES light can be caused by a number of things from the gas cap being loose to a bad O2 sensor... Many autoparts stores will download the codes for free.

Exactly!! And for further reference, buy a repair manual (Haynes or Chilton) and they should have a list of codes in the book.
