Metal shavings in my transmission - help

My 2000 max has 60,000 miles on it. I took it to cottman transmission to get the fluid and filter changed. The guy said my transmission is coming apart. He showed me metal shavings on the magnets in the bottom of the transmission pan. I freaked out and started to look for extended warrenties to cover the cost of any possible repairs. But the transmission works great. Help me figure out what to do. anybody had this problem with their trany?

yup, what he said. Just make sure he F:USHES out the tranny, not just drain - refill. You'll be fine.

The magnets look like fuzzy wheels. I thought they were parts.

Regardless of how many shavings are there, if your tranny works like a champ now I'd keep driving and forget about this. With a used car you should always try and hve some money set aside for a major repair, but if your tranny is running like a champ now I wouldn't worry
